About SOLANGLES

SOLANGLES is an online tool capable of drawing incoming sunrays in plan and section. It was developed by par Raphaël Compagnon at School of Engineering and Architecture of Fribourg (Switzerland).
To learn using this tool a tutorial is available (for now in French only). Any question or suggestion should be sent to the author via the "forum" available in the tutorial.
SOLANGLES is also available in French.

Technical Information:
Any web browser that can display pictures in SVG format should work fine.
If the SVG format is not appropriate for the browser or to facilitate the importation of SOLANGLES results in another software, the graphs can also be generated in PNG format by selecting the corresponding option.
Results can also be tabulated as numerical values by selecting option "TXT".

Three software libraries have been used to develop SOLANGLES:

• cgic: an ANSI C library for CGI Programming
• NREL's SOLPOS 2.0 (Solar position algorithms)
• GNU plotutils package (Graphics subroutines)
